Inspired by a tradition dating back to the Goryeo Dynasty, fragrance sachets, known in Korean as hyangnang (향낭), were historically enjoyed in royal palaces, women’s quarters, private chambers, and traditional Korean homes.

For centuries, aromatic herbs and woods were valued not only for their fragrance, but also for their traditional use in protecting clothing and personal belongings. Fragrance sachets were carried on the body, worn as decorative accessories, and sometimes regarded as symbolic charms associated with protection and positive energy.

The fragrance blend used by Chwiunhyangdang was inspired by historical Goryeo-era fragrance sachets that are said to have preserved their aroma for centuries. Drawing from this tradition, the blend has been adapted for modern everyday living.
